Flew back to Taiwan (CAN – TPE direct) yesterday so that I can celebrate PJ’s birthday with the family.
Charlene has done an excellent job preparing everything; really neat to see how she remembers everything.
PJ woke up this morning (it’s the 8th here) and came running in to hug/kiss me.
He, when asked, explained that he feels the same today as he did yesterday. Then he asked why he doesn’t feel different. LOL

Thought I would throw out a blog on good places to eat in 广州 Guangzhou.
37°2 (Thirty Seven Degrees Two). I have only been to one of their locations – #29 Tian Shou Lu, Tian He Qu, Guangzhou （广州市天河区天寿路29号) Their # is 020 38324725. If Jacky’s there (he’s the Regional Manager) tell him Parker sent you. Good food – you can’t go wrong with their pork. They consider their TRULY MASSIVE menu to be ‘European’ – but I’d say there’s a healthy dose of American items mixed in. Excellent Wine Selection. 1 person with out wine runs anywhere from RMB 45 to RMB 150.
Taiwan Shabu-Shabu (aka King Ben Shabu Shabu) Excellent service, large selection, all you can eat SALAD BAR (which has decent options for Asia), and hot pot 火锅 if you want that; and they have spicy or not spicy… with lots of options. The place seats over 400, so you’re guaranteed to seat as many people as you want. If you go there, ask for the General Manager named Tony & tell him you’re a friend of Parker 菲育贤. Also, on Thursday, Friday & Saturday (I think) evenings at 7p and 9p they put on a dance show for free. See my pictures of it.
Excellent Szechuan Food 巴？？. Call Them – two locations. +86-020-852-39427 or +86-020-3341-2882 I just came back from there and there was a 20 minute wait for a table; it’s AWESOME and no foreigners usually are there. We had goose head & tongue, rabbit head, pork, vegetables, and I forgot the fifth order & a beer for RMB 130 for two people. Awesome if you like spicy; don’t forget to tell them spicy if you want it spicy….
The Snake & Softshelled Turtle Restaurant – Awesome Local Food Call them 020-84617468. They are in Panyu – near the terminal station of the subway. Their food is phenomenal… although it is basically hot pot. We get the chicken, snake, snake skin, soft shelled turtle, and vegetables. Don’t knock it till you try it. The snake skin is AWESOME, the chicken tastes great, as does the turtle & snake. Really I love going there.
