Has Microsoft FINALLY put out an OS that rivals NT?

Well… how about … is there an OS that you should really consider buying even though you ALREADY have one?

I’ve been using Windows 7 on one of my (too many) machines – and I love it. I hate saying that. I really hate saying that.

I’ve REALLY enjoyed this OS… and I’ll RECOMMEND it for everyone (assuming their machines can run it).

Background:
Linux is the BEST OS around. Linux can essentially run on your calculator. Windows 7 requires like 1 GB of memory.

Anyway ….

So Windows 7 has SO far been great.

So – what can you do to get it … and what can you do to configure it.

First – you can join Microsoft as a partner (they’re DYING for partners as they’re losing money) by joining as a Microsoft Action Pack Subscriber. See if you qualify – http://partner.microsoft.com . If you qualify, you can buy EVERY PIECE OF MICROSOFT SOFTWARE for USD 299.

Anyway… once you’ve gotten hold of it – go here. Great site (thanks www.LifeHacker.com) http://lifehacker.com/5386953/lifehackers-complete-guide-to-windows-7?skyline=true&s=x

Peace.

Life’s been crazy lately… so crazy that I’ve not had time for the blog.

I went to see my doctor in Taipei about 3 weeks ago …

The recovery continues. My tibia is healing – and it has healed enough that Dr. Wu’s decided that I need to be walking on it.

He’s ordered me to walk with only one crutch (used on the right side – as it’s my left leg that’s broken) to strengthen the muscles in the leg.

PAIN

Strange how much pain I have – and in so many WEIRD places. In my foot, which is constantly swollen with a beanbag appearance, hurts in the middle of the foot (imagine you stepped on a nail in the middle of your foot). Just putting my body weight on it kills. I’m ‘getting used’ to it, but can’t say I like it.

My knee sometimes really hurts – and as the muscles that hold the knee joint in the right alignment are also quite ‘loose’… which means that sometimes when I’m walking my femur & tibia don’t line up right, resulting in this KLIK and shooting pain.

Then there’s my hip. Apparently my hip joint (due to my birth defects) has always been too oblong -as opposed to perfectly round. That’s bad apparently, and now that I’ve not walked with weight ono my leg for 9 months, Dr. Wu says the pain is because I’m ‘not used to it.’

He basically told me I’m a big baby, and to get walking on it. (grin)

(He did allow that for ‘long trips’ I should use 2 crutches)

He also reminded me to not run. Ever. (chuckle) Run – as if!

All in all, as I’m found of pointing out to people trying to throw pity my way – I’m ALIVE. I’ll take the pain as a reminder of that, thank you very much (and put your pity away for someone else who wants it).

Peace.
